Jump Jimmy Jump

Pitch invader angry with Figo

LISBON - The Spanish man who invaded the pitch in the final minutes of the Euro 2004 final between Portugal and Greece on Sunday said he was motivated by lingering anger over Portuguese star Luis Figo's transfer from Barcelona to Real Madrid in 2000.

"I did it for fame, but with a cause. Figo is a sell-out," the 29-year-old from Barcelona who goes by the name "Jimmy Jump" said.

The man raced across the pitch at the Stadium of Light here and threw a Barcelona scarf into Figo's face before he hurled him- self against the back of the Portuguese net.

He was carried off the pitch by police and charged with public order offences.

A court in Lisbon on Monday released him without setting bail terms until a trial date is set.

The Spaniard has targeted other high-profile events before, most recently at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Figo has routinely faced protests by Barcelona fans since his $56 million transfer from Barcelona to arch-rivals Real Madrid four years ago. - Sapa-AFP

They actually showed him running around, while in the Super bowl, they jailed the streaker for one year and did not show him at all. He should have been hit or chased by players and knocked down, that would have been even more fun.

Yeah so that does mean he can still knock him down, instead he looked at him, he could have just kicked him down, then beat him up, simple, or even tripped him and later say he was trying to help the police.
